Education in Europe: How much homogeneity is needed and
how much heterogeneity should be protected?
introduction
The idea of a unified Europe can
only be realized, if the single countries make an effort
to grow together. The unification implies the question of
how many specific characteristics of a country or a region
should be kept or given up. This workshop is aiming at finding
out the Green perspective for a working European Educational
Area.
One of the highest hurdles is certainly that education politicy
in Europe is one of the most nationally determined topics.
Nevertheless Europe needs an approach. Therefore, we want
to discuss about green educational values and how they could
be implemented without the need of sacrifying individuality.
One important issue to discuss is the recognition of the
different degrees from school, university, vocational and
further education. Furthermore we have to focus on students
and learners mobility. To give the discussion a middle term
perspective we will also discuss the impact of the European
unification on the educational systems of the enlargement
countries.
