After the "Cold War" Europe
is facing the largest accession of new members. Prospects
and risks of this so called reunification of the continent
will be subject of our workshop.
The focus lies in the progress made in adopting the environmental
and agricultural standards of the European Union by the
candidate states, as well as the standards of human rights
in those states (Copenhagen criteria).
Valéry Giscard d'Estaing is demanding a European
foreign and security power. What will be the role of an
enlarged Europe based on a constitution? What will be its
position in the world especially towards the USA?
