Where have we got in gender mainstreaming?
Women have been underrepresented
in the EFGP Council for years now, and the situation is
actually getting worse. This is directly linked to the sorry
state of women's representation in many member parties themselves.
Also, there is no structural gender mainstreaming in the
position papers of the EFGP. The specific situation of women
is often disregarded.
In a one hour workshop, we will discuss the current situation
regarding gender representation and mainstreaming in the
EFGP and the member parties, and try to find concrete solutions.
This will be done on the basis of a resolution ('resolution
on gender balance and gender mainstreaming in the EFGP').
In this resolution, several measures are proposed to improve
the gender balance in the Federation and to make gender
mainstreaming a structural feature in Federation position
papers. The purpose of the workshop is to give concrete
follow-up to these measures.
(ATT: this workshop will take place
before the other workshops on saturday noon and last for
only an hour.)
